AVVC 14 White Intensity had two strong tournaments two weekends in a row.  The first tournament was at Hofstra University, GEVA #2.  After starting off a little slow, and pushing a match to Essex 14 to 3 sets, Intensity picked it up for the rest of pool play finishing the pool undefeated. The first round of playoffs was against DIGS 14 white.  Intensity knew that DIGS was going to be a tough competitor, and played solid defense and served tough to defeat DIGS in straight sets.  In the quarterfinals, Intensity was matched up against a familiar LIVBC 14 Blue team, who had beaten them in a tournament earlier in the season.  Intensity learned from their mistakes, and didn’t allow LIVBC into the game, winning 25-11. The semi-final match Intensity played DIGS 14 red.  A strong opponent, Intensity fought hard and went point for point with DIGS, but eventually fell 20-25.  After a long day, Intensity finished 3rd out of 24 total teams.

Intensity took no time off as they headed to the Princeton Classic at West Windsor High School the following weekend.  Picking up where they left off, Intensity defeated WWVBC, OCVBC and Allegro 14 Regional in straight sets.  The final match in pool play, Intensity faced GPS crush 14 orange.  Intensity rallied late in the first set to win 25-23, but GPS gained momentum and pushed ahead in the second set, defeating Intensity 18-25, which gave Intensity 2nd place in their pool.  In the quarter finals, Intensity played Allegro 14 National.  After being down 2-10, Intensity rallied back, chipping away at the lead Allegro had gained and eventually tied the score.  Allegro pulled ahead, but Intensity wasn’t about to give up, and went on a run of their own, and almost made a comeback but fell just short 23-25, finishing 5th overall out of 20 teams.  Going into Regionals next weekend, Intensity is prepared to play for the title of regional champion!!!
