16 Red continues their season with another strong performance at MAPL York & NEQ. The girls managed to play in the semi finals of the gold bracket in York and the finals of the silver bracket in their division at NEQ.

York started out the first day with a win versus Columbia 16-1. With a 2-0 start, Delaware United 16-1 and Downstate 15-1 were also opponents that fell short to AVVC. With a 6-0 set play and 3-0 match play record going into the final match, nobody knew what to expect out of the Synergy 14 Orange team. Little did we know, the most exciting match of the whole tournament for the girls was this match right here. With a great performance, and high-octane volleyball, AVVC came out on top 20-25, 25-18, 15-11. The next morning was a challenge match versus Delaware United 15-1, which was a slow start, but managed to come out on top in a 3 set match that secured a gold bracket for the afternoon. Playing a familiar foe, Columbia fell short and AV came out on top. The semi-final match was versus Synergy 15-1, and they proved to be a little too much and managed to win in 2 sets. The girls managed to place third in their division.

NEQ was hosted in Philadelphia for the first time, and the girls got off to a great start. 3-0 the first day in matches versus Velocity, Crosscourt, and Xtreme. The next day however, was a little more of a challenge. After beating the Columbia team in York, the girls started the day with a loss 25-27, 23-25. It was a thrilling comeback, but just not enough. The team rebounded back and beat a Brandywine team, which then lead to an unfortunate loss to CVC, which placed us in the silver bracket. Easter Sunday came, and the teams goal was to win the bracket. Wins versus Virginia Jrs. and RCVC got them to the finals, but then fell short to TCA Philadelphia.

The team continues their tournament stretch this Sunday at Bloomfield High School in the AVVC Invitational. A special thank you to our parents and fans who came down to make the trips.
