With most of the top GEVA 17's teams present at our AVVC Invitational Tournament, it would be a battle for all the teams all day long.  In one pool were DIGS 17-1, Sportime 17-1 Gold, CJVA 17-1, and Aviator 17-1. In the other was our AVVC 17-1 Red, Apex 17-1, Downstate 17-1, and Academy 17-1.

Knowing the difficulty of making the gold bracket, our AVVC 17-1 Red knew they would have to play their best to make it.  Starting their day against Academy 17-1, our "Force" started out fast winning the first set handily but Academy battled back strong to win the second.  Our 17-1 pulled themselves together to win the third and final set.  1-0 in pool play.

The second match was against always competitive Downstate 17-1.  Facing off against them for the third time this season, our AVVC 17-1 dispatched Downstate 17-1 once again, winning in 3.  2-0 in pool play.

The last match in pool play was against the top rated GEVA 17's team in Apex 17-1.  With no other teams providing much contest against Apex thus far this year, our "Force" wanted to make sure they made a statement.  A vicious game ensued with a point for point battle.  Pushing Apex to their limits, our AVVC 17-1 Red team played fantastic ball but fell unluckily short due to some untimely replays 22-25, 23-25.  Second in pool.  Gold bracket.

During playoffs, our Atlantic Valley 17-1 faced off against a much bigger Sportime 17-1 Gold.  WIth a slow start, the "Force" dropped the first set.  Regrouping nicely, our 17 Red battled back in a tight second set, but unfortunately dropped their semifinal match.

A strong 3rd place finish at a very difficult AVVC Invitational!  We can only get stronger!
