New Year’s Classic was a phenomenal way to start off our long journey together. We ranked 2nd out of our pool, which allowed us to compete in the championship bracket. Our first playoff game was against Long Island Volleyball Club 15 blue who we won against. Our semi-final match was against Downstate 15 Black. Despite our hard effort we were unable to pull through. However we did end up placing 3rd in the tournament. This tournament has been a good experience for us, we learned to trust each other and work together as one.

Alexa and Chino, our middle blockers, did an extraordinary job blocking and executing quick tempo balls set by our setters. Kate and Bryn, our setters, made excellent setting decisions throughout the tournament and never let a ball hit the ground without their 100% put forth. Our outsides, Francesca and Grace hit countless 4 balls to the opposing team scoring us numerous points. Sasha, Abby, and Marlena our opposites had many crucial blocks at critical points in the game. Finally Scotti (Briana) and Emily our libero/defensive specialist kept the ball alive and in play. We all owe a huge thanks to Coach Titus and Coach Kate without them we definitely wouldn’t have been as successful. We also owe a big thanks to our parents who cheered us on every game and every point. When we were hungry or out of water they went out and bought what we needed.
