AVVC Sonic, rebounded from the Vassar preseason experiments, worked hard and proudly took their show on the road to Lancaster. Stumbling a bit the first day, sonic was still fine tuning their strengths. The second day began with an extremely competitive match with an equal from maryland, although dropping two very competitive games. From that point on, Sonic refused to lose. Winning their remaining pool play matches, and found themselves in a 3 team playoff to win the pool. 2 more Sonic victories won the pool and put them in a position to chase gold in the Bronze division. Monday, playoff day, sonic won a quarter final in 3 games. Then a semifinal in 3 as well. Atlantic Valley Sonic, played an extremely tough opponent in the Final for the Gold. While the first game was not close on the scoreboard, sonic was not intimidated. And continued a refuse to lose attitude into the second game. Trailing 22=16, sonic proudly battled and continued to fight for every point. Displaying incredible courage and a fearlessness that we hope becomes a staple for AV Sonic VB. Sonic took home silver dropping that 2nd game by a mere 2 points. Atlantic Valley Sonic volleyball acquired hardware at MLK, but they achieved so much more than a medal could symbolize. They won each other over. To be trusted is one of life's greatest compliments. Congratulations Atlantic Valley 17 Reg. aka. Sonic! When you hear the Boom! you'll know who it is...
