Atlantic Valley’s 16 National team “La Lima” has already begun to show some promise in the month of January.  They’ve tied for third in DAC’s New Year’s Classic and had a chance at the Silver Bracket at the MLK Classic in Lancaster, Pa.   At the New Year’s Classic, La Lima cruised through pool play beating up on Downstate 16 Red, SVBC Raiders 16, and Allegro 16 National.  Coming off their pool play high, La Lima made a run in the playoffs ousting Downstate 16 Black in two quick sets.  However, it was the NYC Juniors that proved to be too much for La Lima, by handing them their first loss of the day in the semi-finals.

La Lima also had a great run at this year’s MLK classic held in Lancaster, Pa.  On day one, La Lima battled for second in their pool with a win against CJVA white out and a grueling 3 set match victory versus JStroke.  Although day two didn’t prove to be as successful as day one, La Lima’s success lied in their ability to finally find their teams identity.  This success carried on too day three, where La Lima found themselves playing for the silver bracket.  After a rough start in game one versus Synergy Navy, La Lima stayed composed and fought their way back to a second game victory.  After trading points in game three, La Lima couldn’t quite find enough steam to finish, and lost 12-15.
