Atlantic Valley’s 18 Black Ops team started off the MLK Kickoff Classic on Saturday winning its first match in 3 sets over Highlands.  Proceeding to play Platform 18-1s, AVVC Black Ops dropped both sets to bring them to 1-1 in match play.  However, the girls all worked together and every member on the team contributed to a strong finish over CALI 18 Melissa in 2 sets.  The impressive win got the team a first place seed in a 3 way tie breaker, and ended up beating Highlands in a thriller which the score was 15-13.  With the first place seed in pool play going into Sunday, AVVC 18 Black Ops had drawn a pool with CALI 18-1, Revolution State College 18-1, and Columbia 18-1.  In the first match, AVVC Black Ops beat Columbia in another 3 set match.  In the upcoming matches the girls tried their hardest and played great volleyball, but unfortunately fell short 2 matches in a row to Revolution and CALI.  This resulted in the team playing in the silver bracket on Monday morning.  Monday morning, the girls were at Franklin and Marshall Field House, and lastly lost to Legion 18-1.  Each girl on the team contributed and displayed great volleyball to the spectators.  The team is looking to rebound strong and looking forward to a great showing at Capitol Hill Classic.
