Player of the year: Jet Manzi of Marlboro possesses an aggressive well-rounded game, a strong arm and big swing, great hands and a solid court sense, making her a gifted all-around talent.

At 5-6, the junior outside hitter plays well above her size to lead Marlboro (21-4) with 177 kills, 238 assists, and most impressively 100 service points, of which 79 were aces, in 23 games played.

In the Shore Conference Tournament final on Oct. 22, Manzi’s powerful, consistent, well-placed serve was key in sparking Marlboro to its first SCT title with a, 26-24, 25-21, victory against Southern Regional.

In the first set Marlboro was facing a 17-12 deficit when Manzi stepped to the service line. The junior hammered six service points, with three aces, to give Marlboro a 19-17 lead and the momentum it needed to close out a straight-set victory and dethrone Southern, the two-year reigning champion.
