Pitman, N.J. (9/13/11) – Freshman setter Alana Aranjo has been tabbed as the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Women's Volleyball Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference on Tuesday.

Aranjo earns NJAC Rookie of the Week honors after averaging 7.27 assists per set during four matches played for the Cougars at the Muhlenberg Buttermaker Invitational. She opened play in the tournament by recording 33 and 31 assists respectively in a 3-2 defeat to Neumann and a 3-1 victory over host Muhlenberg. One day later, she notched 24 and 21 assists in respective matches against Moravian and DeSales. Aranjo, who also finished the tournament with a combined 27 digs and nine service aces, currently ranks third in the NJAC in assists (6.82 per set).
